Martha Irene Van Egmond (1942–2026) was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife, and friend whose life overflowed with faith, family, and generosity. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, she grew up in Rodney and Jackson, Mississippi, graduating from Central High School before attending Hinds Community College. A devoted member of First Baptist Church in Jackson, she lived her faith through service: leading a deaf ministry, singing in the choir, and quietly caring for everyone around her.
She had a gift for finding beauty in overlooked things, from a lush garden grown from lessons learned at her father's side to a lifelong love of hunting for vintage toys, trains, and treasures at markets and shows. She was always ready with a smile, a story, and a better price, and she treated every vendor and fellow shopper like family.
This raffle is held in loving tribute to Irene's warmth and generosity, and the joy she found in this very community of collectors and treasure-hunters.
